Poor Poor Grant

Monday evening Grant took a pretty nice fall and banged up his face pretty badly.  It all started when we spotted a woodpecker in the tree. Grant wanted to get a closer look so he climbed up into the flower box to see better.  He saw the bird and was getting ready to get down when he saw a falling leaf- he said, "oh a leave, I am gonna catch it."  He watched the leaf so closely that he didn't watch where he was going-tripped over the wooden beam surrounding the flower box and face-planted himself right on the concrete.  If you are familiar with our house the flower-box we have is a few feet high so it wasn't just a little tumble.  Oh I thought for certain he was going to have busted up lips and maybe a few missing or cracked teeth but instead he got away with a cut on his head and a very scrapped up nose.  Yesterday he insisted on going to school looking like the above picture so I let him but today he was ok with not having to wear the Toy Story band aids -I don't know what looked worse -covered in band-aids or nothing to cover up his raw (no skin there) nose????  Poor Poor Boo Boo Bear! I feel so horrible for him! I wish I could just take his pain away.  It could have been sooooo much worse though-we could have had a broken bone or a concussion or something.  Guess this weekend (Halloween Trick or Treating) Grant will be sporting a banged up face.  He will be a scary looking UPS man now.
