ABC, 1-2-3, and Pee Pee in the Potty!

I wonder if Jacob was reading College Enrollment information to Grant? We are anxiously awaiting if Uncle Jacob will be U of I or Monmouth bound come fall.
Loves playing with Papa

At Chuck E Cheese- ChuckE is at the other end of the phone line....I think it surprised Grant that someone was actually talking to him!

Yes, I am a bad Mom --I let my child have knives!

Cheese! Or should we say "Icing"?

Well, today Grant is 23 months old. That means exactly one month from today he will be 2 years old and we will be celebrating with a Super Why Birthday party. Although he is still interested in Super Why I am beginning to think maybe we should have planned a Toy Story birthday party as he is really into Buzz Lightyear and the Toy Story movie. We have probably watched it 5 times already today. I think this new fascination was mostly sparked by his new "big boy" underwear that has Buzz on them. Yes, you heard me right...Grant is now wearing "big boy" underwear and no longer in diapers. One day, about two weeks ago, Grant showed a huge interest in the potty and went a few times that day in the potty chair. We decided that since he was showing this interest that maybe it was time to start potty training. So, this past weekend we made that our goal. I bought an on-line program that was supposed to help you potty train your child in 3 days. We followed it to a T on the first day with little success so we tweaked it a bit to fit our needs and we have since seen progress. Saturday he went 7x in the potty with few accidents....Monday was tough on him and he experienced some regression-I believe this was caused by all of the daycare kids being here all day (they were out of school -so it wasn't a typical day for Grant) and yesterday really wasn't much better and I had thoughts of giving it up for now and trying it again in a few months -but today he has been almost perfect. He has gone 6x with only 1 accident and each time he is able to actually tell me when he wants to go. He gets jellybeans and different candies each time he goes...and OH BOY does he LOVE that! We are very proud of him and hope he is able to continue to learn to use the potty. He has started to be even more funny than he ever has been. And he repeats things we ask him to try to say so well now. He calls Grandma and Grandpa Cottingham - "mama and papa Ham" and my parents think that's just hysterical. He loves to watch himself on video camera....we have taped him counting and showing us how he can identify and say all of his alphabet letters...and he always wants us to play it back for him to see himself. He counts to 10 but often forgets to say "7" for some reason and he defiantly knows all of his alphabet letters and is working on singing the ABC's but isn't quite there yet. He is still into reading books and playing with the daycare kids. A few weeks ago we took Grant to Springfield to Chuck E Cheeses. He loved it! We had a great time! We were there much too long for my liking -it was like a ZOO in that place. We will have to make a trip back there soon! Last time I posted the title was "Bye Bye Pacifier" -Grant has done so well with this. He only gets Pappa at nap/night time. He will ask for it occasionally and I will then ask him "when do you get your pappy?" and he smiles and says "night-night time." He never makes a fuss over it anymore and it was actually quite easy.
