Grant with two pacifiers in his mouth
He did this for quite sometime-it's a wonder how he was able to do this for so long
watching tv with two pappas in
Wishin he could have gotten on the bus with the other kids
Ready to go- but no where to go

Wanting to be like the other kids -
Holding on Cordell's ear
Holding onto Zoey's ear
Zoey dressed Grant up in her hat and scarf- I think they made some kind of deal- "if I can dress you up like a girl then you can hold onto my ear as long as you want." LOL
Dressed up in Zoey's stuffToday marks the beginning of a long journey of detachment for our little Grant. Jason and I have decided that he is too old to continue to use his pacifier (pappa) so we agreed that we would start to ween him off of it on February 1st- which is today. So far -so good. Of course he has asked for it about 15 times -very politely may I add...because he always says "please"-which of course makes it much more difficult on me. We have decided to let him have it at nap and bed time and then slowly ween him from that as well. I think he tried to get his fill of Pappa last week- he walked around most of the morning with TWO in his mouth at the same time. It was too funny not to take pictures. He will turn 22 months in two days. He has really started to talk so much more now and we are really enjoying this. He is also becoming quite good at knowing his letters. He knows almost all of the alphabet letters now and really enjoys going through flash cards. I have ordered some more Super Why books for him (which should come in the mail any day now) because he seems to want me to read his only two Why books over and over....since I am tired of those I had to make the choice to buy some more to keep ME entertained...I know that is sad but it's difficult for me to be with him all of the time and have to read the same books over and over and over and over again all day long every day of the week. So we will see how WE likes the new books. He loves his new Super Why puzzle.....Zoey and Cordell found it this weekend and bought it for him. They are really too sweet. It's a bit old for him because its a 24 piece puzzle but he loves to try to put it together. We plan to go see Grandma and Grandpa Cottingham this weekend. We should have a great time. Grant has been trying to be like the older (daycare) kids here more. Last week he put on his back pack and stood by the door with them and waited on the bus to come. I had to explain to him that he couldn't go to school with them yet but that he would be able to go soon. He loves to wear that backpack of his around the house. And as you can see in the pictures he loves to wear his hats around too. He is also into BABIES! He carries the little baby dolls I have here for my little daycare girls around. There have been several times he wanted to take the baby with us when we go out somewhere and i have had to tell him no and try to encourage him to take something else. He usually chooses to take his Super Why doll instead. He's a lot of fun- we are constantly laughing about something he has done or said. He loves to be a ham and show off. Makes me wonder what we are up for when he gets to be older. We will write again next month. I am going to try to blog at the beginning of every month -I have found it is easier to remember and stay on top of if I pick a specific day for it.
