Grant had a very good 1st Christmas. I think someone must of thought he was a good boy this year because he got spoiled with all kinds of toys, books, and clothes. Jason has enjoyed assembling all of these new items too. We went to Grandma and Grandpa Fricke's house on Christmas eve day. We opened gifts, ate a nice dinner, and then we all went to church. Grant was a little cranky because he went without an afternoon nap but for the most part he did pretty well. He doesn't quite understand that he has to pull the paper off the packages to see what's in them yet. He has more fun pulling up on the boxes to show off his standing skills. Christmas day we all stayed at home. This was the first year we did not have any where to go and no traveling to do. It was quite nice actually. We woke up and unwrapped gifts from Santa and then we played, slept, ate some yummy snacks and that's about it. Later that night, Great Grandma came to visit us along with Grandma & Grandpa Fricke, Uncle Jacob, Great Aunt Phyllis, and Great Uncle Bill. We had fun watching Grant jump in his Jumper for the last time. We had to take it down this week end because he is just too big for it now. The day after Christmas I went shopping while Grant spent some time with Grandma & Grandpa Fricke. Yesterday we went to Grandma & Grandpa Cottingham's house for their Christmas gathering. We had a lot of fun playing with Cassie and just chatting with everyone. Grant got spoiled there too. He got so many toys...I don't know if he knows what to do with himself. We stayed the night there and came back earlier today. We really enjoyed this Christmas and we are guessing every Christmas to come will be just as much fun if not more fun -Grant is so precious to us. He is definitely the best gift I could have ever asked for. Speaking for gifts. My sister, Lori and her husband go in to the hospital tonight at 11:45 pm to have their baby. We are all so excited to meet our new addition. I am sure I will take pictures of the little one and have them posted soon.

We were so glad to see these pictures of Grant's first Christmas. We all thought about you guys Christmas day and knew how special that first Christmas as your "own family" must have been! Yes, they do get even better and more fun each year, hard as that is to imagine.
