How is it possible?

Seriously? How is it possible to be more busy when I am spending my mornings alone and my afternoons just with Grant? Coming off the summer months with  a house full of kids you would think that would mean I would be less busy now that they are back in school and I pretty much have my days to myself? NOPE...that's not how it's playing out so far. I find myself constantly doing something!  Anyways-this explains why I haven't posted in a while.  Let's take ya back then...Last week we ran into a bit of a problem with the school thing. Ok...so it wasn't major and now it's been long forgotten (kind of) but I found out (via my daycare kids) that Grant was being pushed around by a peer at school. Oh boy was I upset...a strange mixture of sadness and anger actually! How do you parents do it? Maybe you aren't control freaks like myself but what I wanted to do was drive my (un)happy ass to this boys house and give his parents a piece of my mind!  In addition to that I wanted to talk to that boy and tell him that just because he is out of control and mean that it doesn't give him the right to pick on the shiest -sweetest- little boy he could find! Ugh!  Really, parents, how do you not come unleashed when you hear things like this? Thank GOD I have a companion like Jason who can keep me grounded and in-check!  After a lot of discussion -Jason finally convinced me to just "let it go." Which I kind of did.  Sorta!  I took care of it I think...that's all I am  going to say about that!  Anyways-this week Grant and the kids have reported NO PROBLEMS and it's been back to being AWESOME! Grant loves school so much and espeically loves riding the bus with his friends. It's so funny to hear him tell me about his day and what the "not good kids" have been up to and what kind of songs and rhymes he has been learning!  I can tell they are doing an excellent job with him because he has been practicing writing his name-and has gotten pretty good (considering he is still kind of young yet to master that skill).  He has definitely not had any problems seperating from Mom -in fact he asked me yesterday, "Mom, why do you come outside and walk out to the bus to get me when I come home?" My response, "because I am excited to see you!" His reply, "well, could you maybe not do that anymore?" I said, "sure buddy, I can just stay on the porch then." He responded, "no, maybe you can just stay inside the house."  Well, OK! Is my 3 year old already going through the "OMG-I am so embarrassed of my MOM" stage?  Makes me proud that he wants to be independent but gee whiz it still cuts like a knife when your kid tells you that he doesn't want you around.  LOL. All in all -school is wonderful and I couldn't be happier. I still think he will continue to be shy -probably throughout the school year (hell, maybe throughout high school) but I am ok with that-he seems to be happy and learning and that's all I care about!

Last weekend we went to the Arenzville Burgoo on Friday night (since we were too busy to attend Saturday) -There wasn't a whole lot going on. I was actually kind of disappointed. But, Grant wasn't -he rode the Ferris wheel. They wouldn't let this preggo chick ride "because of liablitly reasons and the bar probably wouldnt latch over my stomach"  so he rode with Dad instead.  He bought him some Indian Corn and some mini donughts and just had a grand ole time.  What topped off his night was finding the frog while heading to our car to leave!  He was a happy boy after that!

Saturday we attended Nolan's 2nd birthday party.  Boy-did Grant love this party...around every corner was SUGAR!! Grant's favorite. Candy, cotton candy, snow-cones and cupcakes...can't beat it!  In addition to that they had hot dogs and popcorn! He got to play carnival games and win prizes and of course he got to bounce in the BOUNCE HOUSE!  Fun times!  We have a lot of things coming up on the calendar the next few weekends...

Next week we plan to head to my ole stompin grounds and attend the Triopia/Unity football game -the next day we plan to hit up the Steamshow and Cruise night with my family (they come down every year for it-kind of tradition now I guess) and the following day we have tickets for the last Cardinals home game of the season!  Should be good times! I don't see things slowing down for me anytime soon.  Chat at you next week!
