to pop or not to pop, that WAS the question

I have been having the worst time trying to sleep at night because of some horrible upper back pain. I know it's not good to sleep on your back while pregnant but that's the only position that would allow me some relief...because both my left and right shoulder blades have been killing me when I lay on my side. I made a call to my OB to ask if chiropractic care was safe during pregnancy and didn't really get the "go ahead" from him....but after talking to some friends and other women on Facebook I made the decision that it was safe and actually very beneficial for expecting mothers to get chiropractic care. Oh and I am so glad I did. It feels awesome to get moist heat therapy and adjustments. I was quite shocked at how messed up my back really is. They gave me a report and picture print out of my back and all of the places where I am out of alignment and it was literally all up and down my back. Unfortunately, it's not the cheapest treatment to get and they have been going 3x a week for now. I am just hopeful that before long I will be able to sleep more comfortably or at least without the feeling of being stabbed in the shoulders. Did you know that research shows that pregnant women who seek chiropractic treatment during their pregnancies have far fewer changes of having a c-section delivery and report less headaches and morning sickness. They also report better over all well being and better sleeping habits! I went to the chiropractor all through high school and have been a hand full of times since then but I have never had the kind of treatment I have received at Reese Family. They are on top of their stuff there-everything is very modern, high tech and detailed. So far.....very happy with my decision to seek care. I go to my OB appointment this week so we will see what my doctor has to say about my decision-hopefully I don't get into too much trouble.
