Skid is panting.... and laying the shade-I think summer is on it's way!
Mommy bird protecting her young. Grant loves watching her in her nest.
Grant is in shorts again and his face, hands, and feet are covered with dirt and sand...it must be the start of summer by the looks of things.
The garden is growing nicely. Strawberries have flowered and now we are anxiously awaiting some ripe red ones. LOVE HOMEGROWN STRAWBERRIES...summer must be approaching.
My late-blooming lilac bush is finally starting to bud. The smell of lilac is starting to fill the air whenever the wind blows. Can't wait until they pop all the way out. I love our lilacs---even if they are late-late-late bloomers.
The start of every summer I buy a geranium plant....this is what it looks like WEEK 1, bet it doesn't look this nice here in the next couple of weeks. I suck at caring for plants..I am seriously not sure why I continue to try. Sometimes I think I water too much and others I think it's not enough. Wish I knew what I was doing!Well, this is next week will be the last full week I will have with it just being Grant and I here during the day. The past school year as been so nice as we have been able to come and go as we please from 8:00am to 3:00pm everyday while the kids are at school. We have spent time going to the library for Creative Toddler Time, many trips to Walmart and Springfield, visits with Daddy and Aunt Vicki at their work, and lots of time spent at home doing whatever we wish. Games, coloring, movies, pretending, and exploring. I feel like I have been truly blessed to be able to stay at home and watch my little man grow up. It's perfect. Not next week but the following the kids will let out of school for summer break. Although, it's called, "summer break" for them it will definitely not be any kind of "break" for me. In fact, it will like working overtime for two months straight. I will have all but one of my little daycare kiddos here with me during the months ahead...which puts me in charge of 7 children. "Keep em busy" is my motto. With summer approaching brings back "FUN FRIDAYS" although this year's "FUN FRIDAYS" might have to be more like stay-cations are to vacations. We will have more kiddos here so I won't be able to transport them to the pool and the parks like I have done in years past as my little car will only hold 4 kids (5 at most) so we most likely won't be able to do those kinds of things this year unless I rent an 8 passenger van for the day or get someone to take off work and help me out. The fact that I will be preggo will make the experience all that more fun and interesting. I am looking forward to spending time outside -that's IF the gnats clear out -ugh...my least favorite thing in the world! ANNOYING! We were out yesterday (upper 80 degree heat) and Grant
