Grant insisted on dying all of his eggs BLUE -his favorite color!
Roses from my hubby!

It seems like it's been a while since I last wrote. It's been an extremely busy week. Tuesday we went to see Dr. Lillpop for Grant's 3 year check-up. We were told that Grant is lean and tall for his age group...which I guess is a good thing. Grant is a normal and healthy -which we already knew but it's always nice to hear from the MD. Grant always does a fabulous job at the doctors visits and did well this time as well. Unfortunately, he had to get his finger pricked (lead testing for pre-k) and although he didn't make a peep and held very still during the process he was ticked off at me and the nurse...so much so that he refused a sticker/toy lizard from her. He wasn't happy with me about that-but it's over with now and we won't have to worry about that again. I was able to give the school all of their necessary paper work to enroll him in school for the fall....it's also nice to have all of that completed.
Wednesday I took Grant to Springfield to see the Easter Bunny. We got to the mall right when it opened -the Easter Bunny's crew (the guy that takes photos) were not prepared or set up yet so we were not able to capture Grant's visit with E.B. on film....but it was precious. He shook his hand, petted his fur and gave him a big ole hug. Of course we can't go to the mall without riding the carousel -so of course we did that too. Grant was in desperate need of some new tennyrunners so we also stopped in the Finish Line for new shoes!
Yesterday we went to Grant's pre-k screening. This is something I have been dreading for sometime now so I am extremely relieved to have it over with. I just know my son all too well and just knew he was not going to let go of my leg long enough to get tested. He didn't want to go back without me so I joined him during the screening -which turned out to be quite interesting. As I was able to see him interact with the screener and hear all of his answers to her questions. He did exceptionally well (especially considering his shy nature) and I think he would have done well without me in the room. I am soooooo proud of him! He's soooo smart! Ahhhhhh-a sigh of relief is definitely in order! Now all we have to do is wait...wait for the school year to start. I am sure I need to go through some kind of training over the summer months to help both myself and Grant detach from each other.
Today -Triopia is out of school so that means the kiddos are here with us all day. However, it only turned out that I had three little ones today (one of which left after lunch)-so it's actually kind of quiet. I planned our annual Easter Egg hunt but it rained so we had to do an indoor hunt (which actually ended up more fun because of all the little nooks and crannies I could hide the eggs in). We also dyed eggs this morning. Grant enjoyed this so much more than I could have ever imagined. He participated in this with us last year too but he must have been too young to care or remember....this year-HE WAS ALL ABOUT IT!
Our busy week is going to end with an even busier weekend. Tomorrow we plan to go to the Easter Egg Hunts in town and another one we were invited to in the afternoon. Jason plans to have his dad and brother help him put up drywall in the kitchen -to repair our ceiling which fell a few weeks ago. Easter Sunday we have SUNRISE service and breakfast at the church -then home for a much needed nap (I am sure) and then off to Liberty to see my family and grandma. Excited stuff!!
