Grant's dirty BOY HANDS
We have a Cardinals nest at our house-I get the joy of Cardinal watching all of the time now. I enjoy bird watching in general but especially enjoy the Cardinals- they remind me so much of my late Grandpa Barry.
Grant had a fun filled weekend -although he did a lot of festive Easter activities (see next blog post) he also got to do other non-holiday related things as well. Sunday he spent most of the day outside playing in the mud. Which of course meant that was covered in a think layer of dirt when it dried. He seemed to enjoy this so much that I let him pretty much do whatever he wanted -even if it meant literally rolling in it. It did mean that he had to get another bath but hey-he's a boy...ad BOYS WILL BE BOYS!
While I was taking a shower Saturday Grant decided to "help" me out by feeding McDonalds (our fish). Needless to say-I had to clean out McDonalds tank for the second time in less than 24 hours because Grant had dumped almost the entire can of fish flakes in for him to eat. Often times this is the case with little ones right? Their idea of "helping" really only creates extra work for us parents...however it's also so important to allow for independence and exploration so I don't mind at all.
Speaking of being a little helper-Grant got to be Grandpa's little helper too. Grandpa Fricke and Uncle Jacob came over Saturday to help Jason hang the drywall in the kitchen-Grandpa brought with him a little mini carpenters apron for Grant. Grant thought he was cool stuff. He wore that thing all afternoon and insisted on sleeping with it during nap time.
