Santa Comes to Concord

Tried the candy cane but hated it (once again) so he settled for a Kit Kat bar.

We drove around Arenzville and Concord last night trying to kill some time before going to see Santa. Grant loved looking at all of the houses that were all strung with lights and Christmas decorations. He would say, "oh, oh, oh, turn down that way Daddy- I see some more!" He would often gasp and say, "ooo that one's cool." It was a nice prelude to the "main event" at the Concord town hall. Grant enjoyed cookies and punch while waiting for Santa to arrive. We had a terrific time watching him and the other kids get excited about seeing him. I was beginning to worry about whether or not Grant would be desensitized to Santa beings that he has seen him 5 times already and it's only the 9th day of December....(and actually last night would have made it 3 times in the past 5 days!) but no, he was just as excited to see him this time as he was the first time...so we can throw that theory out the window. Tomorrow Santa will be at the Creative Toddler Time at the library so Grant will be seeing him once again. In addition to the excitement of getting to see Santa he will also get to make gingerbread houses and cinnamon ornaments! He always loves going to the library so I am looking forward to taking him.
We also have a busy busy weekend planned so I hope all of this nasty weather they are calling for somehow misses us or isn't as severe as they are talking. Grant was invited to his little buddy-Bryson's birthday party Saturday afternoon and Jason and I have the bank Christmas party to attend that evening so Grant will be getting some Aunt Vicki time-which he is always excited about. So, fingers crossed-the weather cooperates.
