Hanging out with Uncle Mike
Yummy! I liked my first Thanksgiving meal. I got to eat mashed potatoes and bread and butter!
I had fun playing with my cousin, Cassie. She loves on me all the time. I got lots of hugs and kisses.
Sorry it has taken me so long to get on here and post. We have had a busy couple of weeks. It didn't help that when I did want to do some blogging I was preoccupied by taking care of Grant, Jason or myself. We all got the flu this week. Grant go it on Monday night. It was the saddest thing I have ever seen. He would throw up and then look at me like, "Mom, help me." It broke my heart. No sooner did he get over it -we (Jason and I) got the bug too. We hope it's gone now. We had a very eventful Thanksgiving weekend. We went to Aunt Lori and Uncle Mikes for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. This was Grant's first Thanksgiving. He seemed to like the meal that was prepared. He also really enjoyed seeing Grandma and Grandpa and all of his aunts. Friday morning bright and early 4:30 am we woke up to get ready for the BIG GAME. My Mom and Dad drove down that morning and was here by 6am. Jason and I made the road trip to Champagne for Jacob's Championship Football Game. It was cold before we got to go into the stadium but once we were in there the weather was perfect. I was so nervous for the boys I really thought I was going to be sick. I told Jason that I hadn't felt that nervous since our wedding day. It was crazy. What a wonderful experience for Jacob, the boys, and the community! Of course they won and we got to be a part of the 135 cars that was in the caravan to welcome the boys back home to J-ville. It was truly a powerful thing to see all of the cars with their flashers on backed up for miles and miles. It was awesome to see the support for the boys. We are so proud of Jacob and the Trojans.
Sunday Grant went with me and Aunt Vicki to another baby shower in Quincy. My cousin and his wife are expecting a baby girl in February. We went out to eat at Applebees and Grant got to see Grandma and Grandpa Cottingham. Grant had a blast with Grandpa. We figured out that he likes to drink water from a straw, he doesn't like lemons, and he still likes mashed potatoes.
Grant is very funny still. He can crawl now but prefers to "bear walk." He gets his butt up and straightens his legs as though he wants to stand up. Speaking of standing up, he has started to pull himself up on things now, which is scary for me because I am worried he will hit his head on something. We found out that he likes pickles and he loves to drink water out of a big boy cup. For some reason he no longer likes bath time. It's sad because that used to be his favorite part of the day (and mine too) and now he cries when he has to get a bath. Bummer! He has really red and chapped cheeks now and I don't know what else to do but to keep putting lotion on them. If anyone reading this, has any suggestions for me on how to help him with this, please let me know.
This should be another big week end. Grant has his first birthday party to attend tomorrow and then we have a baby shower to attend and then Grant with be staying with G-ma and G-pa Fricke while we go to Jason's bank Christmas Party. Then Sunday we will be going to Triopia for the Championship celebration. It should be fun.
