February Fun

Lane thoroughly enjoyed painting Valentines for us. What a little Picasso he is.

Since the beginning of January when Walmart started shelving their Valentines candy Grant reminded me that all he wanted for Valentine's day was a giant Hersey Kiss. He was so bummed out the week before Valentine's day when he saw Walmart had sold out...oh but Mom came through....one big giant KISS for my special little Valentine!

Of course, Lane wanted one too. I thought they would each take a bite or two and then sit them in the fridge for two weeks never to be thought of again (like they do giant chocolate bunnies) but this was not the case...they nibbled on these for days and enjoyed them nearly to the last bite.

PAINTING PAINTING PAINTING....I am so over painting. I have painted the sun room with three coats of paint and just today finished painting half the walls in our kitchen. I am so OVER painting!

First REAL snow day I have had in a long time. Usually if we get snow it is in the middle of the week when school gets called off and I have a house load of kids which means we (our family) aren't able to go out and roll in it and play. Either that or it does snow on the weekend and it's either too cold to go out or we have some other plans for the day. Not this snowfall! We had nothing to do but PLAY. And play we did...all day long!

before even shoveling out our driveway we had to shovel a "road" or a path for Lane to drive his tractor on. He'd get stuck every so often and Jason would have to push him out. He enjoyed riding again -makes me wish for spring even harder.

Grant had a blast-I loved having the boys out all day -they've been cooped up too long.

Our giant snowman : Frosty Fricke

Thanks to Grandpa Fricke's hard work we were able to take the boys on the 4-wheeler. By far their favorite part.

Snow tubin is so fun!

Grant -teaching his little brother the fundamentals of snowball throwing.

Lane loved to throw snowballs but preferred to not be retaliated against.

Wrestling Dad - a "must do" snow activity

Lane seriously almost fell asleep in the tube -he was so worn out from playing and I kept telling Jason to "take it easy" with Lane on there so we went pretty slow for awhile and it looked as though he was nodding off.

SNOW FORT!

Lane kept doing somersaults over the fort- it looked fun yet dangerous

our fort hole was a bit too small for Grant- he got stuck and then gave up and laid down for a while. LOL

The fort had a side slide to slide down-kinda

Frosty Fricke DAY 1

Frosty Fricke -Day 2 (no he didn't melt- he was vandalized- head knocked off and stomach kicked in)

It's been a pretty mild and busy winter which has been good for my sanity but it's not over yet. I'm ready for jeans and t-shirt weather. I am ready for all day and most of the evenings being spent OUTSIDE!! I am ready for green grass and yellow daffodils! The boys are most certainly ready for spring too. They are getting bored and antsy inside -fighting and arguing nearly daily now. My favorite day of the whole year is quickly approaching ...in a few weeks it will be daylight savings time and we will get to "spring" the clocks forward and gain SUNLIGHT! Ah, I can't wait!
