Underwear Only Zone

Ahhh, it's true! For about two weeks now we can say we are officially pull-up free. Nearly a year ago, we decided it was time to potty train Lane. He transitioned from diapers into underwear incredibly well and quickly but of course we still put him in a pull-up at nap and night time. For a long while this proved to be an excellent idea and a necessity as he was still wetting during sleep. But about 5 months ago we noticed that he was staying dry more often than not.  Just recently Jason questioned why on earth we were still buying and putting him in pull ups when he sleeps as he is always DRY! The thought never really occurred to me -I was just going through the motions and the routine and would always put them in the cart during my weekly trip to Wal-mart. We decided it was time! So, here I am announcing that once and for all we are a pull-up free zone at the Fricke home! Ahhhh, it's so nice. It's been a few weeks now and (knock on wood) we haven't had a bit of trouble with it.  I actually think it has improved his self confidence and self esteem. He carries himself as though he is a 33 year old rather than a 3 year old now. He likes the idea that he is just like his big brother and can rock out the underwear all of the time! Oh and staying in his bed at night....a million times better. I should rephrase that he never had a horrible problem with staying in his bed it was the calling out for us in the middle of the night that started to become a problem. We have reformed him in that area too. Things are going well for lil Lane. He's maturing so quickly right before our eyes. The countdown is now on for when he will attend his first year of pre-school- I think we are looking at approximately 215 days!
