| This is Lane's new thing to do. He learned this trick from his older brother. He randomly turns around, pulls his pants half down, shows his butt, and asks, "can you see the moon?" Oh my gosh! |
Over the weekend we had a very special visitor come stay the
night with us. My little two year old niece, Mallory stayed with us Saturday
night while her Mom and Dad enjoyed some alone time. She was quiet and reserved at first and
seemed to be overwhelmed with all of the new things to do and play with. She
also seemed overwhelmed by Grant. He was constantly trying to entertain her and
engage her. She seemed to love all of the attention she was getting. She loved
playing with the hundreds of stuffed animals and enjoyed hiding with them in
our play tents. She also enjoyed SNACKING! Lol. She just kept pulling me in the direction of the
kitchen while rubbing her tummy and smiling at me in a big ole heart warming
way. And of course, I wasn't' going to
tell her NO. So she got FULL- very full. Too full to eat the awesome supper I had made...but it
didn't bother me as that's what my boys do to me most of the time anyways. She saw my toes were painted and pointed that
out to me... she brought it up a few times and so then I asked her if she
wanted Aunt Dana to paint her toes and she smiled and whispered,
"yeah!" (She whispers under her breath a lot which I find to be
exceptionally cute). She wanted to paint them blue but unfortunately I didn't have
any blue nail polish so she opted for pink and purple. When I had talked to
Vicki on the phone and told her what we had done she informed me that it was a
first for Mallory. I felt bad as I didn't mean to take a "first"
moment away from Vicki. But Vicki assured me she didn't mind. Mallory played and played and played. She
enjoyed a very long bath and loved playing with different bath toys. Then
something happened....after bath time she turned into a totally different child.
She went WILD. She was showing off and giggling, throwing toys around and
shaking things. She just went completely ballistic. Grant thought it was
hilarious and literally rolled! I thought it was hilarious too- she went from dainty
, calm and introverted to wild, crazy and extroverted. It was nuts and so entertaining to
watch. Then from that time on- until late into the night she was wide awake. She got an extreme dose of testosterone having her two boy cousins running around. There were burps, farts, and a little two year old boy running around showing his butt and saying, "Mom, can you see the moon?" Oh my- she was probably wondering why Lane ran around the house with no pants on half the time too. Poor girl. We loved having her stay with us and looking forward to doing it again sometime.
