Cardinals Caravan 2014

 Saturday we took a drive to Hannibal, MO to see the Cardinals Caravan.  We told Grant about this trip earlier in the week and from the moment we told him until the day of, he counted down the days! He was so very excited. For those who follow this blog or know us personally you most likely know that Grant is the biggest little Cardinal fan this side of the Mississippi!!! He loves the Cardinals and we knew he would enjoy this experience.  He was kind of bummed out that some of the bigger names like Molina and Holliday weren't going to be there but still seemed really happy about the chance to see Matt Adams. Grant knows that Matt Adams is a good hitter and hits homers (before we told him he was telling us-crazy how much this kid retains).  This was our first time attending a Cardinal Caravan event so we didn't really know what to expect.  We got there and was given a card with our number on it (165) which guaranteed us autographs from all the Cardinals in the lineup for the caravan.  They had complimentary cookies, popcorn, soda and beer-which was really nice...and they also had several prize giveaways. We weren't one of the lucky ones who walked away a winner and Grant was bummed for a minute or two about this but quickly got over it when it was our turn to get our items autographed.  Lane of course, fell asleep and missed all of it- so Grant got his helmet signed for him - it was sweet to hear Grant in his soft little voice explain to the Cardinal players that his brother fell asleep and would like something signed for him as well.  Grant had a great time and we have already considered making this an annual event for the Fricke family to attend.  It was all FREE and great fun for Grant so -why not?
