MINI VACATION TO FUN CITY
One of Jason's best ideas yet has been to get these crazy boys out of the house for a weekend get-a-way. We ended up in Burlington, Iowa at Fun City. It was just what my stir crazy-feeling the cabin fever-hyper boys needed. We had a fantastic time and hope to do it again sometime. We stayed three days and two nights and never moved the car from the parking lot. Yet we were never bored. We spent time in the arcade, swimming, bowling, and eating in the various restaurants there. Jason even went to the Adults Only section of hotel and gambled a little in the casino. It would definitely be fun to do with another couple of even extended family members. It was relatively cheap and the boys LOVED IT! Great idea, Jay!
Grant celebrating after dominating at Skee-ball
Probably one of his top two favorite games. His most favorite was called RED HOT because he racked up the tickets every time he played-wished I would have gotten a picture of that but didn't. Darn it.
Concentration -he is always so serious and competitive
The boys going for a ride together
Lane was infatuated
Go-kart time!
Lane loved just wondering around everywhere. He explored every inch of the place
Illini car! Sweet!
He was so excited!
He did really well for his first time going alone
holding up the #1
Came in first!
No trip is complete without lots of bed jumping time- that's the only place they are every allowed to do this so they were excited
Ready to swim
Lane didn't know what to think
Ah yes, bowling. Grant gets so frustrated if he can't preform well- he loved it but he is just so competitive
So cute to watch
water was heated but just not enough for everyone BUT Grant...he didn't care a bit that it was chilly
FUN FUN FUN
Grant loved going down the bigger slides and also enjoyed sitting in the HOT TUB
Lane woke up from his naps SMILING and really loved watching cattle auctions on the tv. He's so hilarious
My sweet boys
Wrestling is something we do on a daily basis now
Lane got himself a white chocolate covered pretzel
Candy in the shape or LEGO'S! How fun?
He loved it
Funny picture. Grant insisted that we put Lane on his shoulders for a picture-this was the result. Silly
Candy Alley was right up Grant's alley. He was in heaven!
Birthday Party Preparations
Grant is having an Avengers Superhero party so I have been busy making capes and masks for all of the kids invited to the party. Boy did it take me a long time but I am not finished and it feels good! I am really pleased with how they all turned out and excited to see how it all comes together.Took some patience which I dont always have a lot to spare but I DID IT! YAY ME!
SNOW SNOW SNOW
He's extremely cold in this picture but wouldn't admit it because he knew I would make him come back inside.Such a great kid -with a great smile. We are so blessed to have little Grant!
Another sweet smile from another sweet boy
I got tired of Grant begging to go outside in the blizzard like conditions and me having to tell him "NO" that I finally just filled a tub up with snow and brought it INSIDE. They had fun all the same
This is Lane's sign language for HOT -he kept telling us how "HOT" the snow was.
Lane pouting after having to come inside from playing.
Grant and Aurora built STEVE the SNOWMAN together last week. Grant kept eating the "buttons" which were really just tootsie rolls. Silly boy! Oh and he ate the licorice mouth too...hence the snowman without a smile.
