What a Week!

What a long week! Monday and Tuesday was the last FULL days of school for the kiddos which meant the last FULL days with it just being Grant and I at home together. I had planned to do all kinds of fun things with him to take full advantage of our precious time together however those ideas were squashed when I was left without a vehicle for both of those days. Jason's brakes went out in his truck so while his truck was being repaired he had to take my car to work. Oh well...Grant and I made our own fun here at home.

I kicked off the week with a Monday night Movie with the girls. We went to see Bridesmaids and OMGoodness was it funny. I don't remember laughing like that at a movie in a long time. We had a terrific time and I enjoyed the movie tremendously.

Tuesday night I had a board meeting in the evening but fortunately it was an extremely short one so I could race back home and catch part I of the season finale of American Idol!

Wednesday the kiddos got out at 11:30 so I had them all here all afternoon -and they were stuck inside due to the rain and weather. I ended up spending 45 minutes in the basement (without power) because the sirens went off and we were under a tornado watch/warning. One of my little ones was so terrified that he cried-which made all the other semi-calm ones become more anxious. Grant had to go to the bathroom and I asked him to wait and apparently he really had to go because he had an accident -and of course then our degusting dog decided to lick up the mess which really sent the kids into a tizzy. So I had to get really creative to keep them all under control so we ended up putting on a shadow puppet show with the flashlight. Grant was so cute when the power when out he said, "mommy who turned out the lights, a ghost or a witch?" I told him neither turned the lights out and he then said, so sweetly....well then can you please just stop playing around and turn the power back on so I can see?" And when its all said and done and we regain electricity what does my little guy want to watch? WIZARD OF OZ? Are you serious? Apparently Grant does not have a fear of storms whatsoever. I just hope he doesn't end up being one of those looney storm chasers when he grows up. That night Amy met up with me at our house and we went to a friends Melaleuca party. It was extremely interesting.
Thursday was the first full day of school being out. I had all of the little kiddos here all day and once again the weather did not allow us to be outside at all. It made for an extra long day. That evening I hosted my 31 Party-it was a huge success. I was able to get over $100 worth of FREE items and was able to purchase 4 items at half price! Plus I got free shipping! I only ended up having 6 people actually attend but had about 15 orders placed prior to the Thursday in addition to the 6 orders I had from the party! I really didn't expect for it to be such a successful party but it was and I am thrilled...I will be even more thrilled when the order actually comes in here within the next few weeks. I am excited to see my new stuff!!
Friday the kiddos went to school for an hour in the AM -which to me, is the most ridiculous thing ever! They go for an hour -just to get report cards! They could have sent them home with them on Wednesday and been done with it. Just think of all of the gas and bus driver pay that the school could have saved by doing it my proposed way. Such a waste. Thankfully the sun came out and we were able to spend some outdoor time...although it was a bit cooler -which I didn't like at all but the kids didn't seem to mind as they were the ones running around like crazy-which made them warm. Grant said to me several times, "Mommy, my little hands are cold!" When I said, "well, maybe we need to go in cause I don't want you cold he would said, "no, they not cold no more." That's how much the kids loved playing outside -they were willing so make some sacrifices to remain out.
Friday we also got an offer on our house in Jacksonville. We counter offered and they accepted!!! So we are on our way to getting that thing SOLD! I am not going to jump for joy yet-not until it's official and we get to our closing date. But hey-that's wonderful news to head into the (3day) weekend with-dontcha think? I DO! My prayers have been heard!
