Grant's Petting Zoo

Grant found a baby bird this weekend and insisted on carrying it around with him in a bucket. Poor little baby bird! Grant loved it so much and even thought to try to find some worms for him to eat and leaves for him to sit on. After having the bird bucketed up all day I finally convinced Grant that we needed to let the birdie go so he could find his Mommy and Daddy. Surprisingly Grant took to this idea quite well....and in fact we watched the bird for a while after releasing it and it did in fact appear to have reunited with it's family! Shortly after letting the bird go we had to let another one of his captured creatures go as well.....he had a HUGE toad in a bucket too and decided to let that "friend" go to find his family too. So sweet!

Since Grant is really into having to chronicle all of his daily events we have to run through the list of everything (and I mean everything!) he did during the day prior to bed time each night. He will say, "what did we did today?" Which really means...."could you tell me each and every step I took today, including each and every person we saw and place we went and make sure you don't forget anything get it out of order cause I will know? So -that's what Jay and I do -several times a day...we help Grant keep his thoughts organized by telling him EVERYTHING he has done. Cute at times and other times can be quite annoying (I try to hide the boredom in my voice after the third time of telling him what we have done but I am not always sure I mask it well).
