Weekend News

I spent my Saturday outside mowing. Now that we have the new mower and I have figured out how to drive the thing, I have found that I really enjoy mowing the grass. It gives me time to be alone with my thoughts and to be outside. Since our yard takes over 2 hours to mow- I didn't get much else done on Saturday but yard work.

Grant got to spend some time at Grandma and Grandpa Fricke's Saturday evening while Jason and I made a trip to town to pick out carpet and paint for the daycare room. I think Jason is quite frustrated with my idea to paint stripes on the walls. I believe this is because he is the one doing all the work and I am the one standing back giving instructions on what I want done. Jason, what a sweetheart he is. He's been working hard all day and he isn't anywhere close to being ready to paint yet. He's still putting up the tape. Poor guy.

Grant's Aunt Vicki came over to visit this afternoon. She just picked up her wedding dress from David's Bridal and is storing it here until the big day. It was fun to see her in it again. She is going to be such a beautiful bride. She and I looked through a bunch of old pictures of us. She has to get childhood pics ready for her photographer to create a slide show. She gets her engagement pics taken on Tuesday and needs them gathered up by then. It was fun to look back in time at when we were young and carefree.

Grant got to see Uncle Jacob this afternoon too. He came over to lift weights for a while.

Tomorrow Grant will get to spend some quality time with his cousin Livvy. Her first day at daycare here will be tomorrow. I am praying that all goes well.
